What's Happening in Class?
K-2
We have been working on locomotor movements. Locomotor movements are the basic movements that create the ability to move in more complex ways. Learning these skills is very important in the development for further success in physical activities.
3-5
The third through fifth graders have been learning all about healthy fitness components. Here are the three that we have been focusing on while playing games such as Cageball and Steal the Bacon:
*Cardiovascular Endurance
*Muscular Strength
*Muscular Endurance
6-8
In middle school, we have started our dance unit! Along with learning the basic moves to the swing, polka and waltz the students will be learning where each dance originated from. Check back soon for pictures!
Physical Education Shoe Policy
All students must wear tennis shoes (shoes that are worn for physical activity–no sandals or school shoes). If a child is not wearing tennis shoes, they must sit out of the activity and their grade will be lowered for that class period. This policy is for the SAFETY of each student. Also, we want to keep our new floor looking great!
